Watching airplanes with my children here in Montreal has been on my list of things to-do for a while, and I finally decided to go this past weekend.
Turns out there’s an entire park meant just for watching airplanes taking off from Montreal Trudeau Airport and we weren’t the only ones with our kids there. I was surprised to see just how popular it was.
The park is called Jacques-de-Lesseps Park and I highly recommend mapping your way to get there as it’s pretty confusing.
There’s benches, garbage cans and signs explaining the different planes. And there’s plenty of room for the kids to run around. Don’t worry – the runway is fenced off. No worries about little ones roaming there.
There was a mixture of people with little kids, older adults who obviously took the plane watching very seriously, and people who were just curious.
All in all, our kids weren’t that into it. There was a LOT of confusion about going to the airport and NOT getting on a flight to see grandma and grandpa and I think it sort of ruined it for our very stubborn son. He did say he like it but we definitely didn’t stay that long.
