We headed out the the Zoo Ecomuseum for a little family adventure. It was mine and Bastien’s third visit, and my husband and youngest son’s first.
I feel like they’ve done a ton of changes since I’ve last been (or maybe I have a terrible memory) but there seemed to be more paths, enclosures and signs.
The kids were so excited to navigate around the paths and follow the map. It’s a little bit easy to get lost, but the park isn’t huge so it’s not long you’ll ever be too lost.
Our kids are real runners and not happy sitting in a stroller, so we don’t even bother bringing one most times anymore. Half the fun is running and exploring.
The Zoo features animals native to Quebec and has a variety of small and larger animals. There’s everything from owls to bears. We always tend to go right when it opens so we’ve never encountered any crowds.
It’s a great outside alternative and they are open year round. My husband loved it and declared it was better than the Biodome. He was already enquiring about birthday parties when we were leaving.
There’s not too much to keep in mind for a visit. There’s places to eat a packed lunch (there’s no food on site that I saw), change areas, lots of parking and lots of signs. They have special days and activities so if you want to get even more out of your visit, check out the website.
