This designer couple’s midcentury home makes me want to explode it’s so amazing. The lights, those oars, the bedroom overlooking a pool… that octopus rug. I find it all so inspiring (and that first comment on the post made me laugh). I’m particularly digging all the tumbling tile I’m seeing everywhere (you can see it above on the back wall).
I’ve never been one to really shy away from bold statements. The custom made kitchen in our last house was green and although that isn’t crazy, it definitely wasn’t white. And although our house is lovely and gorgeous, as I’m slowly settling in I’d like to try and make more of a mark on it (my mark on it) than the previous owners. Less European Hotel and more Michelle Little. I’m still figuring out what that is but it’s fun finding out.
I’m also going crazy over the tiles from Popham Design.
AMAZING, right? The last two photos above (of blue tile) are of the house in Morocco owned by the founders of Popham Design. It’s a little much for my home but I think it’s stunning.
Other tile inspiration:
And although I dream of ripping out the tile in our current kitchen and throwing on something like this, I think there are probably less destructive ways that I can start making my mark. New pillows anyone?
And this is actually the originally (I assume!) 1800’s tile in our front entry. Cute, hey!
