As regular readers know, I’m starting to do a bit more fashion stuff these days. It’s super fun, and a good change from just writing about food. And, I’m kind of getting into the whole world of nice clothes. This was never more true when I visited new boutique Lowell located on St-Laurent in the Mile End.
The shop is opened by the team behind Rachel F., Rachel Fortin and Mathieu Mudie. On top of being great people, they have really good taste. And they choose really nice clothes.
Rachel describes the clothes as classic but original, stuff you’ll love forever.
And they both were passionate about knowing the backstory about how the clothes were manufactured, with everything made locally to where they were designed. Quality and craftsmanship are the key words. Mathieu reminded me how there is such a disconnection in fashion these days between what things are worth and what people expect to pay. Real quality costs a bit more money, but will last much longer.
I loved a lot of the stuff in there, and can’t wait to go back for a closer look.
Lowell, 5364 St-Laurent
