Please note that this post and photos refers to an old location of les givrés. They have now moved to 2730, Masson Street in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie and also have a location at 334, de Castelnau Street.
Les Givrés has been on my must try list for a while. For starters, it’s ice cream is reported to be one of the best in the city. Plus, they offer so much more such – wild and fun flavours, tasting menus, tarts and other pastries, macarons, ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches, cookies, cookie dough, and they even make their own cones.
Julien offered me a huge cup full of a ‘freestyle’ mix of flavours which I ate on the run. I didn’t get time to talk to him about the specific flavours he put in the cup but I definitely tasted apple pie, grapefruit, mango, and apple. It was all oh so good… I also took some frozen cookie dough, and a pint of vanilla with a caramel swirl to go.
There’s definitely more that I want to try for next time, and I am already looking forward to my next trip back!
Decor: Very nice. Someone has obviously taken the time to come up with something a little out of the ordinary from your usual ice cream shop. There is also a terrace in the front that I can imagine would be pretty rocking on a warm summers day.
Service: I went at an off time, so I don’t know what it would be like when it’s busy.
Price: Reasonable.
Good For: A treat, something extra special when you are craving ice cream.
Baby Friendly: Yes. There were a couple steps down into the shop, and it might be a bit crammed to get a stroller between the fixed tables, but I think it’s doable. There’s also the terrace. I doubt there are change facilities.
