I was lucky enough to be able to do an article for Urban Expressions on the beautiful Rustique Pie Kitchen in St-Henri. I’ll let you read about it more on Urban Expressions but I thought I’d share with you some of my photos, many of which were used in the Urban Expressions article.
I urge you to check out this bright and beautiful bakery. It’s so affordable ($1.50 for a mini pie!), cute and the people running it are so lovely and really care about both the food and the community they are in. The pies I tasted were great, and I took another six home.
One of the things I really loved was when part owner Ryan Bloom (pictured above) was talking about their desire to fit into the community. They re-used all the planks that were part of the original structure in the shelving which must have been quite a bit of work. I think they also used it for the wood wall panels. Also, as mentioned the food is really affordable for everyone. I think community is so important, and it’s one of the reasons I love showcasing all these restaurants and shops both in my writing and on this blog.
It would also be a great spot for a Mom & Baby outing, and I plan on taking my little marshmallow there shortly!

I love this place, going again this afternoon!
totally worth the metro trip 🙂
Bought some tarts there, they were mediocre at best. The were over cooked (burnt) and lacked flavor. Also purchased cheesecake that we had trouble cutting with a knife it was so tough.
These are seriously the BEST pies/baked goods I have ever had! I can’t wait to go back for more!!!
