I love getting out of the house and after the success of our little South Shore adventure to Exporail, the new Dinosaurs Unearthed 2 Exhibit at the Montreal Science Centre was on our list.
The exhibit itself was pretty amazing and it was definitely geared towards a younger audience. By far my son’s favourite part was digging in the ‘sand’ for dinosaur bones.
There are a bunch of life-size dinosaurs and most are of the scarier kind. Unfortunately, this really freaked my youngest one year old son out. Even my eldest three year old was pretty scared of the big one (even though after he said the big dinosaur was his favourite part). The exhibit is not huge and we went through it pretty quick. Crowds were low because we were there right when it opened, so we went through a second time.
I remembered from my Winter Activities post that there was a permanent exhibit called Clic! that was geared towards younger kids aged 4-7. We were all a little tired but it was right next store to the dinosaur exhibit. Imagine our surprise when we entered.
It’s a fantastic giant enclosed room full of science experiments through play. Even though it was geared for 4-7 my 3 year old had a BLAST and even my 1 year old loved toddling around.
The rolling ball experiment was a real hit but every area offered easy and fun play for toddlers.
I think that my kids enjoyed this area even more than the dinosaurs and I’m so glad we didn’t miss it.
We were too played out to explore anymore of the museum but I’m looking forward to seeing what else the Montreal Science Centre has to offer.
I would definitely recommend this for a morning out with the little ones!
