Aren’t we lucky to have such a great selection of food trucks here in Montreal? They seem so talked about now it’s hard to imagine that just a couple years ago THEY DIDN’T EXIST.
I’ll just let that sink in.
So, I for one am on a mission to try as many as possible. This isn’t always easily done as, well, the trucks are mobile so you never know where/what/when. That’s why when I found out about the new feature on the YP app to track down food trucks I was more than pleased. And of course, I had to test it out.
Turns out it’s super easy… just download the YP App (which btw has a bunch of other amazing features like a display of current gas prices in your area!) and scroll down to see food trucks near you.
Then just zoom in and hover over the arrow to find out the name of the food truck and if it’s open or not.
You can even click to find out more about the food truck, their menu, and the hours that they are open for the next few days. It’s all real time so you can be assured that the information is up to date. I was pretty excited and set off to find the Winneburger food truck – a past favourite and just what I was craving.
I headed down to Dorchester Square and was happy to see the YP App tracked me as I went… I’m not super familiar with driving around downtown so it was pretty handy. I scored the perfect parking spot – which turned out to be too good to be true as it was reserved. I then scored a second perfect parking spot and headed to the square.
From there it was easy…
A-ha! Food Trucks!
No line up!
Score! Hamburger, chips and a praline milkshake!
All in all, the YP app worked out super well. The last thing I want to be doing is driving around aimlessly looking for a food truck, and this was easy. I especially loved being able to read the description of the truck and checking the hours it was open. Just perfect to take advantage of all these amazing food trucks Montreal has to enjoy!
