Christmas is so hectic, and I know we all want our Christmas gifts to look super pretty but don’t have time to spend hours on bows and sparkles. A few ways I make my gifts a bit prettier on a budget:
-Collect ribbon all year long. You’d be surprised how much you get and where it’s found. For example, Target wraps it’s dishtowels in rough cotton ribbon which I’ve managed to reuse more than once. Collecting ribbon from the bin at Christmas to reuse next year is always smart.
-Buy plain kraft paper bags and make them fancier with stamps or washi tape. Stamps are kind of pricey, but I bought one snowflake stamp about 5 years ago and continue to use it on cards, wrapping paper, and bags.
-Print out gift tags for a more personal touch. If you already have the printer and the paper this is essentially free (although I admit some use up quite a bit of ink). Try and print on heavier cardboard paper if they are hanging tags. I don’t have a one whole punch, so I just use a yarn needle and punch through the paper. It’s not so neat, but it does the job.
Here is a roundup of some of my favourite printable gift tags:
