A friend of mine suggested that we visit the Exporail, otherwise known as the train museum, on Montreal’s South Shore in St-Constant. It was a hit!
If your kids are even halfway into trains they will love this place. The site is huge and features both interior and exterior displays. Inside there is a huge warehouse with full size trains and many of the trains allow the kids to go right inside. Even if it was cold outside, just the interior display would make for a great activity and the location is roomy enough that kids can move around and get out all their energy. Outside there is a mini train and streetcar (see schedule here for when they are running). There is also a miniature train display which my son went wild over. I really recommend it for a great day out!
Do you have any other ideas for great days out in the Montreal area or have you ever been to the train museum?
