I have been driving past La Tamalera and meaning to go for ages. I looove Mexican food, and will take it whenever I can. The restaurant is open for lunch, so I said, it’s on! and invited four friends and their cutie offspring for lunch.
The place is simply decorated, but very cutely done. I loved the bright tablecloths. I was a little worried about bringing so many babes around lunch hour but I needn’t have worried. This place is perfect for a mom’s lunch out. It’s very spacious with lots of room for strollers (we had four no problem) and room for the kids to crawl around.
The only caveat is that the food isn’t really baby friendly, but I mean, it’s not difficult to pack your kid some his food or formula or whatever.
At the back was a little Mexican grocery area.. yeah I know – not a great pic but you get the idea.
The food was great and not at all expensive. I shared the Baja Tacos (very top photo) and the Tacos al Pastor (above). I also had a huge glass of hibiscus water.
All in all it was perfect for a relaxed lunch, and I would definitely head back for an easy dinner too.
Decor: Cute and creative
Price: Very affordable
Service: Well, we were the only ones there but it was efficient.
Food: I really enjoyed it. It seemed fairly authentic.
Good For: Moms gone wild! OK, maybe not wild but a lunch with kids is pretty easy there. A casual lunch or dinner would be perfect there.
